Joseph A. Vail Asylum Workshop - Immigrants with Disabilities Pt. 1 Identifying the problems facing immigrants with mental disabilities The morning session will include the viewpoints of a psychiatrist, licensed social worker, attorney, and an immigration judge (invited), in order to address the various intricate elements involved in handling immigration proceedings while factoring in mental disabilities. We also have invited an attorney who will be speaking via Skype from the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. He is a counsel for the plaintiffs in the Franco—Gonzalez litigation involving representation of detained immigrants with mental disabilities.
